The trailer of Tu Hai Meri Kiran, a psychological thriller starring Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, was released on Oct. 6. The film is about one-sided love and obsession, and it opens in cinemas on Oct. 23, 2026.

What the trailer shows

According to India Today's description, Sonakshi plays Kiran and Zaheer plays Samar, whose relationship is far from ordinary. Samar believes the two share a special connection. Kiran, meanwhile, asks him to leave her alone and stop calling her. He refuses to let go. The trailer keeps the nature of their relationship mysterious, and in several sequences reality itself seems questionable, with strange incidents leaving Kiran and the audience wondering what is happening. There are hints that someone may be manipulating her perception.

The promo ends on an ominous note, with Samar promising to take care of Kiran "forever" as she lies unconscious and injured. India Today calls the film a story about how a special bond can take a disturbing turn when feelings cross the line between love and obsession.

Who made it

The film is directed by Karan Rawal and produced by Vishal Rana and Echelon Productions. The producer said the film explores "one-sided love, obsession and the dangerous consequences that can follow," and that the story keeps audiences asking "what is real, what is imagined and where the story is headed."

What the stars said

In a statement carried by India Today, Sonakshi Sinha said, "Tu Hai Meri Kiran is a very different space for me, and that's what made it so exciting. What intrigued me most was the unsettling world the film creates, where an emotion can slowly become something far more intense and consuming."

Zaheer Iqbal said, "What drew me to the story was the way it explores one-sided love and how an emotion that begins with intensity can take an unexpected turn. There is a strong sense of mystery and suspense throughout the film, which keeps you wondering what lies beneath the surface. Working with Sonakshi made the experience even more special."

What else opens that day

Tu Hai Meri Kiran is not alone on Oct. 23. Bollywood Hungama reports that Tum Mere Ho, which marks Gurmeet Choudhary's first project as a producer and Isha Malviya's Bollywood debut, also arrives in cinemas that day. After a week in which the two new Hindi releases, Prahaar and Nayyi Navelli, opened to dull houses according to Film Information, small and mid-size films will be fighting for screens against Rajinikanth's Jailer 2, which opened Oct. 15 and led this weekend's India chart with Rs 144.05 crore net over three days, per the tracker Sacnic.

Why the genre matters

Psychological thrillers built around obsession are a staple that relies on the performances more than the budget. For Sonakshi, India Today notes she describes the role as a departure from her usual space. Whether audiences will turn out for a mid-budget thriller in a crowded fortnight is the open question, and ticket-booking trends in the first two days should tell.
