Saif Ali Khan Joins Instagram With a Library Post
Saif Ali Khan has joined Instagram, opening with a post about the Pataudi library. What he shared, what outlets reported and what is unconfirmed.

Saif Ali Khan made his Instagram debut on Monday, Oct. 12, according to The Times of India, with a first post of photographs taken in what he called the Pataudi Library. The actor had long stayed away from the platform. By Oct. 16 his account had also carried an anniversary post for Kareena Kapoor Khan, India Today reports.
The first post
The Times of India says Saif's verified account is @saifalikhanpataudi. His first post showed a few portraits of himself and carried the caption "Pataudi Library.. Judging books by their cover." The paper notes that users quickly observed that he follows only his wife, Kareena Kapoor, on the platform.
The Times of India dates the account's debut to Monday and reports it in an article updated on Oct. 14, which places it on Oct. 12.
What he said before
The paper recalls that Saif had said in an interaction with a media portal that he does not especially enjoy browsing Instagram. He had admitted that he keeps a secret account to scroll from time to time, and that he repeatedly promises to delete it and then delays doing so. That earlier remark is reported second-hand through the Times of India.
The anniversary post
India Today reports that on Oct. 16, the couple's 14th wedding anniversary, Kareena posted a series of photographs, and Saif replied with a playful comment: "I wonder what the moon thinks about all this... Happy anniversary, love!!" He later posted his own: the first slide showed him alone, captioned "Almost perfect, but something is missing," and the next two added Kareena and their sons, with the line "There we go, that's perfect!!! Happy anniversary, love."
The next appearance
Saif and Kareena then appeared together on The Great Indian Kapil Show, in an episode scheduled to stream on Netflix on Oct. 17. The Hindustan Times reported a promo in which Saif made a joke about Kareena's bedtime routine. We cover that separately.
What it tells us
Stars joining social platforms late is not unusual, and the interest here is less about content than about how long he stayed away. Nothing in the coverage suggests the account is anything other than his own, and it is marked verified, according to the Times of India.
Saif's recent work
India Today notes that he was seen recently in Haiwaan, a neo-noir crime thriller directed by Priyadarshan, and describes it as a remake of the 2016 Malayalam film Oppam.
What we could not confirm
We could not independently confirm the account's verification status, which the Times of India reports and which we did not check on the platform. We did not see the posts ourselves and relied on the outlets' descriptions and quoted captions. We could not confirm the earlier interview in which he said he keeps a secret account, because we did not find the original. The Times of India report is dated Oct. 14 and refers to Monday, and we have inferred Oct. 12 from that. Saif has not made any statement beyond his posts.
