Shahid Kapoor says the shoot of Farzi 2 is close to wrapping, and that the character he plays, the small-time artist Sunny, still lives in him. He posted behind-the-scenes pictures on Oct. 14, according to The Economic Times, which published the report on Oct. 17.

What Shahid posted

The Economic Times says he shared a set of photographs of his Farzi look on Instagram on Oct. 14 and announced that filming is almost done. His caption, as quoted by the paper, read, "As the shoot on FARZI 2 is coming to a close. It only reminds me of how much Sunny lives in me. I am him, and he is me." He went on, "We both started as just a kid off the Mumbai streets with a fire in his heart to tell the world.... look at me. I AM AN ARTIST."

The paper describes the images as showing Shahid in a rugged, brooding look. It describes him as 45 years old. That is the paper's figure.

About the series

Farzi is a black-comedy crime thriller created, produced and directed by Raj and DK. It first streamed on Prime Video in 2023. The Economic Times says the second season went on the floors last year. Shahid's character Sunny is described as a brilliant, small-time artist.

The report says Shahid hinted that the new season will show a natural narrative progression and raise the engagement factor. The paper's headline asks when and where it will be released, but the text we could read does not give a release date or a streaming date.

Other projects mentioned

A search of related coverage shows Shahid has been linked to other work. NDTV reported that Vishal Bhardwaj's film with Shahid and Triptii Dimri, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, was titled O'Romeo, and a search summary of that report says it was released theatrically on Feb. 13, 2026. A Filmfare item says Shahid was not part of a film called Adal Badal, denying earlier reports. We did not read those reports in full.

Where the coverage stops

Moneycontrol and Newspoint also carried the post, according to search summaries, but we did not open them and the Economic Times adds no new schedule or plot information. That means the only confirmed news is the near-wrap of shooting. Post-production, music and release planning are all still unannounced in what we found, and readers should treat any specific streaming date circulating online as unverified.

Why it matters

Returning to a character after several years is a risk for any actor, and Shahid's remarks suggest he considers Sunny a signature role. That reading is based only on his own words. The series' reception in 2023 is not documented in the coverage we examined, so we are not making claims about it.

What we could not confirm

We could not confirm a release date or platform schedule for Farzi 2, because the report we read does not state one. We could not confirm the shoot's final day, since Shahid says it is nearing completion. We did not see the Instagram post and relied on the Economic Times' quotations. The O'Romeo release date and the Adal Badal denial come from search summaries, and we have not verified them. We have not described the show's plot beyond what the paper says.
