Kareena Kapoor and Saif Mark 14 Years on Kapil's Show

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan marked their 14th wedding anniversary on Oct. 16 with Instagram posts, then made their first joint appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show the next day. A promo from the episode, in which Saif joked about Kareena rubbing ghee on her feet at night, was widely picked up. The Hindustan Times and India Today reported it.

The anniversary posts

India Today reports that Kareena shared a series of photographs from holidays and family moments with their sons, Taimur and Jeh, with the caption "Another year around the sun, forever to go." Saif, who recently joined Instagram, posted an image of himself alone with the caption "Almost perfect, but something is missing." The next slides added Kareena and the boys, and he wrote, "There we go, that's perfect!!! Happy anniversary, love."

The couple married in Mumbai on Oct. 16, 2012, after dating for five years. The Hindustan Times and India Today both say they grew close while filming Tashan in 2008.

What the promo shows

According to the Hindustan Times, host Kapil Sharma asked the couple the secret to looking "forever young and fresh" after 14 years of marriage. Saif credited ghee, and Kareena said their children eat plenty of it. Saif then said that Kareena also rubs it on her feet at night, and joked that the bedroom smells "like a dhaba."

India Today adds that Kareena explained that the habit helps her relax. The Hindustan Times says Kapil then joked about a colleague also rubbing ghee on her feet, an exchange the paper describes without further detail. Netflix released the promo, and the episode was scheduled to stream on Saturday, Oct. 17.

A first together on the couch

The Times of India reported on Oct. 14 that this is the first time the couple appear together on the show, although each has been a guest separately. It said they were photographed outside the set, Kareena in a crimson bandhani salwar suit and Saif in an all-black outfit.

Their recent work

Both outlets note that Kareena was last seen in Meghna Gulzar's Daayra, which pairs her with Prithviraj Sukumaran in a crime and justice story. Saif was seen in Haiwaan, a Priyadarshan thriller that also features Akshay Kumar, Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher. India Today describes Haiwaan as a remake of the 2016 Malayalam film Oppam.
